Panasonic General Counsel Damien Atkins Named to Savoy Magazine’s 2016 “Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America” List

Panasonic Corporation of North America General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Damien Atkins has been named as one of Savoy Magazine’s list of “Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America.” The Savoy Top 100 recognizes some of the most accomplished African American leaders who have made a positive impact in Corporate America and have made a difference in the communities where they live and work.

Since joining Panasonic in April, 2015, Mr. Atkins has reshaped Panasonic’s in-house legal team to align with the company's plan of significant growth as a provider of diverse technology solutions. His expertise in leading mergers & acquisitions activities and managing corporate governance have already made a significant impact on Panasonic’s overall strategy in North America.

Selection of the “Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America” begins by examining the landscape of spheres of influence impacting Savoy’s readership including: corporate sector influence, scholastic achievement, career growth, community outreach and recognition. The information received from over 500 prospective candidates is pre-screened by the selection committee that includes Savoy’s editorial board, community leaders, and representatives from academia and business. The committee reviewed information on executives from an extensive group of industries ranging from banking and finance to healthcare and technology. After reviewing all of the profiles, the field of candidates is fine-tuned to the 2016 “Top 100 Most Influential” listing based upon the candidates exemplary professional accomplishments, community achievement and ability to inspire others.
