The AG-UX180 is one of the world's first 1-inch sensor cameras (with an integrated lens) to feature 20x optical zoom. Combined with the industries widest lens (24 mm), it ensures you get the shot you need, near or far, with the ability to take your frame from 24 mm (wide) to 480 mm (telescopic) in no more than 2 seconds. In HD mode, the i.Zoom function increases the zooming capability to a maximum of approximately 30x zoom, while still maintaining high resolution. If needed, Digital Zoom (2x, 5x or 10x) gives you super-telephoto magnification equivalent to a 300x zoom without significant drop in light intensity.

An advanced Optical Image Stabilizer [4K/UHD/FHD], provides powerful correction even in unstable shooting situations, such as low-angle or high-angle shots. The ball O.I.S. system reduces wear on the drive section, and greatly improves correction for small amplitude handshake. In HD shooting mode, the 5-Axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer uses handshake correction that combines the effects of both optical and electronic image stabilization, so any handshake in various direction, including rotary direction, is detected and corrected.

The AG-UX180 is equipped with intelligent auto focus technology, offering industry leading focusing speed, tracking performance and image stability. This top level performance is achieved through the primary focus algorithm, a high-precision, high-speed Micro Drive Focus Unit, as well as a system which accurately predicts changes in subjects, contributing to superb stability.

The UX180 also provides you with numerous options to optimize your settings, including adjustment of AF speed, tracking sensitivity and area setting for even more flexibility.

The variety of recording modes with selectable image quality, frame rate and bit rate settings are ideal for a wide range of applications, from cinema production to online distribution. Images can be recorded with a resolution of 4K (4096 x 2160)/24p, UHD (3840 x 2160)/60p or FHD (1980 x 1080)/60p. Versatile and easy-to-use MOV (QuickTime), MP4 and AVCHD file formats are supported.

IR (Infrared) Shooting in Dark Places
The IR Cut Filter can be turned ON/OFF (allocated on the User button). When the filter is turned OFF, IR lights (sold separately) can be used for shooting in dark places.

VFR (2 fps to 60 fps)
FHD VFR (variable frame rate) Recording: VFR recording can be set in 10 steps from 2 fps to 60 fps (60 Hz) / 9 steps from 2 fps to 50 fps (50 Hz).

Super-Slow Motion (120 fps/100 fps)
Super-Slow Motion: Slow-motion effect can be achieved by high-speed HD recording at 120 fps (59.94 Hz) or 100 fps (50 Hz).

The AG-UX180 comes equipped with two SD cards slots, enabling options such as unlimited relay recording, simultaneous recording, background recording and UHD/FHD Dual Codec recording. Dual codec recording allows for simultaneous capture of UHD 30p and FHD, or FHD and FHD low bit rates, which essentially produces master and offline/proxy versions of footage. An efficient workflow can be achieved by using the Sub Rec File for tasks such as previews, offline editing and Internet data transfers.

The UX180 comes fully equipped to help provide you with the best possible coloured image, featuring broadcast-grade camera image adjustments, such as 16-axis colour correction. This enables colour matching of multiple cameras under the same lighting conditions, as well as creative image rendering.

Skin Detail
Makes skin colours appear soft and beautiful. Especially effective when recording the person up close.

Master Detail
Adjusts the overall degree of contour enhancement.

8-Mode Gamma
The AG-UX180 is equipped with eight selectable gamma modes, including two Cine-Like Gammas, drawing on technologies developed for the VariCam.

Equipped with the features you would expect from a camera far more expensive than this one, the UX180 comes with a 3G-SDI output for connecting to an external 1080/60p recorder, a TC preset in/out terminal for time synchronized multi-camera recording, two channels of XLR audio input for professional high-quality audio recording and HDMI output for on-shoot 4K video monitoring.
