Here at Panasonic, we strive to put a lot of heart into everything we do. When it comes to building our new facility in De Soto, Kansas, we’re taking that literally. Panasonic Energy is proud to have sponsored three giant, heart-shaped sculptures in Kansas City’s public art installation 2023 Parade of Hearts, each measuring nearly 6 feet tall and weighing around 400 pounds.

In 2022, more than 150 uniquely decorated heart sculptures – all designed by artists with ties to Kansas City – were placed around the city as part of a public art installation that celebrates the Heart of America. This year, Panasonic sponsored three of the 40 hearts. After a week spent near downtown KC during the NFL Draft, our hearts were placed in areas that our neighboring communities could enjoy. One heart was located in the heart of Downtown De Soto, another on the campus of Johnson County Community College, and the third near our construction site at the 3&2 Baseball and Softball fields. The Parade of Hearts campaign concluded by auctioning off the hearts to raise money for local nonprofits, and we donated a heart to the City of De Soto so that our new neighbors can enjoy it in its permanent home.

As new residents in the Greater Kansas City region, we appreciated the opportunity to be part of Parade of Hearts, especially as it supports local artists, raises money for area nonprofits, celebrates diversity and brings together the community. Learn more here: https://theparadeofhearts.com/
