Panasonic Debuts Full HD Remote Head Camera for Use with Surgical Microscopes

Panasonic takes next step in redefining imaging for surgery with Full HD Remote Head Camera; new camera joins 4K Ultra HD Remote Head Camera for comprehensive surgical camera lineup with exceptional image quality, suitable for all budgets.

Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a leading provider of professional healthcare display and monitoring solutions, announces the introduction of the Full HD Remote Head Camera GP-UH332. The Full HD Remote Head Camera system features include a small, lightweight 3MOS color head for high color performance, foot control and chemical-resistant coating. It meets safety standards (IEC60601-1) and the EMC standard (IEC60601-1-2). The camera will be available in October, 2016.

Key features of the GP-UH332 include:
EX ZOOM Function: Unlike digital zoom, this camera’s high image quality is preserved when zoomed in to generate more detail.
Multiple-User Functionality: Up to six user files can be stored.
Chemical-resistant coating: Cleaning with a disinfectant will not result in cracks or discoloration.
Designed for medical environments: The camera is designed for easy, intuitive operation.
Foot Switch Functionality: Clinicians can maneuver the image without the use of hands.

The new camera provides options to clinicians not ready to invest in a complete 4K imaging system. It can be coupled with either the FullHD Camera control Unit (GP-UH332C) or the 4K CCU (GP-UH532C). In March Panasonic debuted its 4K Ultra HD Remote Head Camera GP-UH532. Both cameras in the Panasonic lineup give surgeons in operating suites and remote locations the ability to see delicate procedures in rich detail. They are ideally suited to small spaces. By providing a Full HD system with a migration path to 4K, Panasonic continues to meet the needs of its customers.

Both the Full HD Remote Head Camera and the 4K Ultra HD Remote Head Camera will be on display at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons from Sept. 24-28 in San Diego and the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting in Chicago from Oct. 14 -18 in Chicago.
