Premier Android™ Operating System Maintenance Program Addendum
Optional: Panasonic Premier Android Operating System Maintenance Program
Any eligible Devices (as identified below) for which the Panasonic Premier Android* Operating System Maintenance Program (“Program”) has been purchased will be eligible to utilize periodically released Android Operating System (OS) and security updates for each eligible product enrolled in the Program. If Premier Android OS Maintenance is purchased on a device, inclusion in the Program will continue until the last month of the purchased service term. Annual renewals are available while coverage is offered on a specific device.
Devices eligible for this Program include the FZ-N1, FZ-T1, and FZ-L1 models.
The Panasonic Premier Android OS Maintenance Program represents an OS support model for the Google Android OS, offering long term provision of security and OS bug fixes via periodically released updates. Updates are targeted for release every forty-five (45) days while an OS is supported in this Program.
Panasonic will provide updates and patches to the original Android OS version delivered on eligible models for up to three (3) years after Panasonic’s announced end of sale date of each model enrolled. Panasonic will also provide updates and patches to transitional Android OS’s following transition to a newer version of Google OS supported by Panasonic on a given model. Panasonic will continue to provide updates to Android OS versions so long as there are no technical or contractual restrictions imposed by Google or other parties that would prohibit delivery of such updates.
When Google has ended security support for an OS release, Panasonic will continue to monitor the newer Google Android OS monthly updates and will analyze each vulnerability to determine if it is applicable to an older Android version. If applicable, Panasonic will utilize and “backport” that update into the latest Panasonic delivered OS updates. (Backporting is the process of adapting a current Google patch to an older Android OS version. Backporting can only be done where the functionality exists in the previous OS release and will not cause instability or incompatible with the previous OS release.).
The Panasonic Android Premier OS Maintenance Program alone cannot guarantee that a device is protected from all possible vulnerabilities. This Program is designed to be used in conjunction with industry standard multiple security safeguards, and customers should install these updates and patches as part of a more comprehensive overall device and data protection strategy. Panasonic assumes no liability for OS failures or security breaches which may occur regardless of whether a customer is enrolled in this Program.
Other Limits and Exclusions: There are no other express warranties except as listed above. The service provided under the Program may be subject to limitations, failures, delays, and/or other matters inherent to the use of the internet, electronic communications and/or devices that are outside of Panasonic’s control. Panasonic will be under no circumstance responsible or liable for any damage, loss of liabilities arising therefrom, or issues not caused by, or under the control of, Panasonic.
EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT EXPRESSLY STATED HEREIN, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS-IS” BASIS TO CUSTOMER, AND CUSTOMER SHALL USE THE SERVICE AT CUSTOMER’S OWN RISK. PANASONIC AND ITS AFFILIATES MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, IMPLIED WARRANTY OF NON－INFRINGEMENT, AND WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF BUSINESS OR TRADE. PANASONIC AND ITS AFFILIATES MAKE NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS AS TO THE ACCURACY, INTEGRITY, APPROPRIATENESS, RELIABILITY, OR TIMELINESS OF THE SERVICE OR ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, THAT THE CONTENT WILL BE SECURE OR NOT OTHERWISE LOST OR DAMAGED.
PANASONIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFIT, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR LOSS OF BUSINESS OR GOODWILL, SUFFERED BY ANY PERSON, AND RESULTING FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT OR THE SERVICES PROVIDED UNDER THE PROGRAM, OR ARISING OUT OF ANY BREACH OF THE TERMS OF THIS WARRANTY OR THIS PROGRAM. ALL EXPRESS WARRANTIES SPECIFIED ABOVE ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
