Panasonic Supports U.S. Olympic Committee with the “Milk Life presents, Scouting Camp: The Next Olympic Hopeful” TV Program

In an effort to increase and enhance the pipeline of world-class athletes pursuing Olympic sport, the United States Olympic Committee, in partnership with Milk Life and 24 Hour Fitness, has developed a talent-identification program, Scouting Camp: The Next Olympic Hopeful. The program invites elite American athletes of all sporting backgrounds across the country to apply and tryout for a chance to become a member of Team USA.

The athlete experience will be featured in a two-part, USOC Productions’ broadcast airing Nov. 24 from 9-10 p.m. ET on NBCSN and the winners will be announced on Nov. 25 during the 3-4 p.m. ET finale on NBC.

Panasonic is excited that content for this project was shot with the 5.7K AU-EVA1PJ Hand-held Cinema Camera, as well as the Lumix GH5 still / video cameras. These cameras offered the quality, color, dynamic range and feature set to allow for shooting this key sports programing. In addition, Panasonic Digital Still cameras were used by the athletes, to help in documenting the experience.

Nearly 3,500 athletes applied online, and the top-90 athletes were invited to spend five days at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The talent-identification program evaluated the finalists, putting them through intensive screening and sport-specific training while on at the OTC campus.
