Panasonic Joins Forces with Nevada JobConnect to Recruit for Gigafactory

Job Fair on August 10 at Reno Convention Center to Focus on Recruiting Talent for Hi-Tech Manufacturing Jobs

Panasonic Energy of North America and Nevada Job Connect are collaborating on plans to hold a job fair, focused on full-time jobs and careers in advanced manufacturing at the Gigafactory that is now being built outside Reno, in Sparks, Nevada.  The job fair will be held on August 10th, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at the Reno Convention Center.

At the event, candidates will learn about opportunities for employment in next-generation manufacturing of lithium ion battery cells for use in automotive applications like powering Electric Vehicles.  “At this stage, Panasonic Energy of North America is looking to meet with candidates for Shift Lead, Maintenance Technician, Quality Control Specialist, Material Handler, Winding Operator as well as Battery and Manufacturing Engineers and other technical and professional positions,”  said Mark Anderson, General Manager, Human Resources and General Affairs, Panasonic Energy of North America. “A limited number of interviews for qualified preregistered applicants will be held on site on a first come, first serve basis.”

Interested candidates should register in advance by visiting the nearest Nevada JobConnect office or by registering by email with their job preference and resume at [email protected].  Those who pre-register will be eligible to win door prizes at the job fair.  Additionally, interviews can also be scheduled by registering at the door of the Reno Convention Center on the day of the job fair. “We are delighted with the energy and collaboration shown by Nevada JobConnect in this joint effort,” Mr. Anderson said. ”They have been a great partner in helping us to make progress towards our goal of filling the thousands of Panasonic manufacturing positions at the Gigafactory.”
