Panasonic Announces Expanded Economical Packages for New VariCam LT 4K Super 35 Cinema Camcorder, 40% Price Drop on expressP2 Cards

Panasonic has announced a number of cost-saving camera kit packages for the recently unveiled VariCam LT Super 35mm Cinema Camera, which begins shipping later this month.  In addition, Panasonic has announced a 40% reduction in the cost of expressP2 cards, the media used for recording on the VariCam LT and VariCam 35 cinema cameras as well as the VariCam HS action camera. 

The VariCam LT will be available in four packages: VariCam LT, suggested list price $18,000: this is a basic camera kit including the camera body, top handle, control panel and control panel mounting bracket.  The VariCam LT-VF package, suggested list price $23,700, contains the basic kit plus the AU-VCVF10 OLED Viewfinder. VariCam LT-PRO, suggested list price $27,550, includes the camera body with basic kit accessories, AU-VCVF10G viewfinder, shoulder mount, operating grip and PL lens mount.  The most extensive accessory package is the VariCam LT-PROEX with a suggested list price of $30,200, including all of the contents of the VariCam LT-PRO package (camera kit, viewfinder, shoulder mount, operating grip and PL mount) plus two 256Gbyte expressP2 cards and an expressP2 drive.

The AU-XP0256AG 256Gbyte expressP2 card, now with a suggested list price of $1,200, is designed for high frame rate and 4K recording. The 256Gbyte expressP2 card, for example, can record up to 90 minutes of 4K/4:2:2 content at 24 fps.
