PANASONIC LUMIX LX100 NAMED AS 2015 CES INNOVATION AWARDS HONOREE

New York, New York, November 11, 2014 – Panasonic today announced that it has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree for the LUMIX LX100 Digital Camera. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories.

The LUMIX LX100 is not just a successor to Panasonic’s critically-acclaimed DMC-LX7 but a jump-up that even inherits the DNA of equally successful DMC-LC1 - Panasonic’s first full manual compact camera released in 2004.  To achieve even higher picture quality and multi-aspect capability, the LX100 incorporates the Micro Four Thirds High Sensitivity MOS sensor. It lets subjects stand out of the background impressively with a rich stereoscopic effect. The LX100 is also capable of smooth, high quality video recording not only in Full-HD 1,920 x 1,080 60p but also in 4K (QFHD 4K: 3840x2160, at 30 fps(NTSC) in MP4).  The LX100 is available at www.shop.panasonic.com and valued channel partners.

“We are honored to have our products recognized again this year by the Consumer Electronics Association’s Innovations Design and Engineering Awards,” said Julie Bauer, President, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.  “Panasonic has been undergoing a transformation over the past year in which we have become even more focused on delivering products that truly enhance consumer experiences.  The LX100 delivers to consumers the ability to capture still and 4K video for a greatly enhanced product experience.”

The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.

Panasonic’s LUMIX LX100 will be displayed at the 2015 International CES, which runs Jan. 6-9, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada

Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present.

Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.

2015 CES Innovation Honoree products are featured on CESweb.org/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL.
