PANASONIC ANNOUNCES DEBUT OF FIRST SLOW JUICER IN U.S. MARKET

Slow Juicing Limits Damage to Nutrients and Protects Juice from Oxidation

Stainless Steel Juicing Screw and Powerful Low-Speed DC150W Motor

January 5, 2015 (Las Vegas, NV) – Panasonic unveiled today its first Slow Juicer product for the U.S. market at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) as part of its expanded line-up of healthy-lifestyle small home appliances.

The Panasonic Slow Juicer (MJ-L500) features a stainless steel juicing screw and a powerful low-speed DC150W motor which enables the user to also create healthy drinks and frozen confections from frozen fruits and vegetables as well as hard or dense whole foods.  The Slow Juicer will be available in July via panasonic.com and other retailers.  Pricing and additional availability details will be announced at a later date.

The slow juicing method of extracting juice from fruits and vegetables has shown benefits over traditional juicers.  Traditional juicers cut and spin food – like a lawn mower -- causing damage to the nutrients.  The spinning action also creates heat and introduces air which can oxidize the juice and degrade its color and flavor.  Panasonic’s Slow Juicer presses and squashes fruits and vegetables – like a mortar -- which avoids damage to nutrients and limits the heat and air exposure so that the juices maintain their natural color and great taste.

The Panasonic Slow Juicer’s sleek design houses a low-speed motor which operates at 45 spins per minute and is rated for 15 minutes of continuous operation.  Included with the MJ-L500 are an anti-drip cap, juice beaker, pulp beaker and an attachment for making frozen foods like ice cream or gelato..
