A Wiser Way Forward
We act on our purpose through every product we make, as we expand and introduce solutions for decarbonization, including:
- Cylindrical lithium-ion batteries
- Panasonic’s batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) generate significantly less emissions compared to internal combustion engines.
- ~ 60% avoided emissions
- Direct fan motors
- Our direct fan motor for air conditioners and refrigerators produces less emissions than conventional motors.
- ~51% avoided emissions
- Heat Exchange System
- We developed a heat exchange system that reduces heat loss generated by the built environment.
- ~30-70% avoided emissions
- Distributed Storage Battery System for Data Centers
- Our new power distribution system for data centers saves space and optimizes energy use, helping to avoid emissions from conventional, centralized power systems.

Manufacturing Ingenuity
We continually seek new and innovative ways to improve sustainability of all aspects of the manufacturing process, from reducing our emissions and energy use to water management.Manufacturing Ingenuity
-
- SBTi-certified net zero target: Reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 90% by 2030.
- As of FY 2025, we are 45% to our goal.
- From FY 2023 to FY 2025: Reduced CO₂ emissions from 0.20 million tons to 0.18 million tons in North American and Latin American operations.
- Achieved 45 net-zero manufacturing facilities in global operations, including a facility in Mexico.
-
- 9 manufacturing sites in North American with ISO 14001 certification.
- 13 plants in North America operating in water-stressed areas. In response, we are conserving local resources through wastewater reuse and other efficiencies.
-
- Since 2007, we’ve collected 1.7+ billion lbs. (~771 kt) of e-waste through our Manufacturers Recycling Management Company (MRM) in the U.S.
- We host 345 Repair Service Centers in North America to help extend product life and reduce waste.
