On February 13th, Panasonic hit the scene at the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada’s (EDAWN) annual State of the Economy luncheon at Reno’s Peppermill Resort Spa Casino. With over 1,500 business and community leaders in the room, the event was buzzing with energy and meaningful conversations about Northern Nevada’s bright future. Panasonic’s own Wes Sloan, Sheila McBride, Chris Newman, and Todd Thurston were front and center, connecting with peers and exchanging insights that deepened our understanding of the region’s evolving business climate.

At the State of the Economy luncheon, Panasonic Energy’s vision aligned closely with key themes like innovation and workforce development. The discussions shed light on both the challenges and opportunities in this fast-evolving landscape, fueling our strategic approach to sustainable growth and resilience across every venture. For Panasonic, the connection to this region runs deeper than the walls of its facility.  By teaming up with community organizations, universities, and regional leaders, Panasonic is helping pave the way for Reno to thrive as a powerhouse of energy innovation, setting the bar for sustainable growth and progress.

Nevada wrapped up 2024 with impressive achievements—$3 billion in investments, 22 new companies, and 1,900 jobs added. These highlights speak to the region’s dynamic market conditions and for Panasonic Energy, they reinforce why this area is a hub for innovation-driven industries. With the facility in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center as a cornerstone of our operations, we are proud to contribute to this momentum and to witness the region’s remarkable growth.
