Panasonic Projector and Display Americas LLC Joins Industry Leaders to Launch OpenAV Cloud
Newark, NJ – May 21, 2025 – Panasonic Projector and Display Americas LLC (PPNDA) today announced its role as a founding member of OpenAV Cloud, a newly formed nonprofit organization created to accelerate the AV industry's transition to the cloud through open standards, cross-platform collaboration, and customer-first innovation. PPNDA joins a powerful coalition of AV leaders uniting around a shared vision for a more connected and interoperable AV ecosystem.
OpenAV Cloud aims to address the long-standing industry challenge of siloed, proprietary systems that limit integration and innovation. The initiative’s mission is to foster open cloud-based APIs, shared frameworks for secure data access, and true cross-brand compatibility – empowering manufacturers, integrators, and end users alike to build flexible, scalable AV solutions without vendor lock-in.
“As a pioneer in professional AV technologies, PPNDA is proud to support the development of open, collaborative frameworks that give customers the freedom to build integrated systems that truly meet their needs,” said Petro Shimonishi, Director of New Business Development at PPNDA. “OpenAV Cloud reflects our belief that interoperability and cloud-native solutions are essential for the next chapter of AV innovation.”
As a founding member, PPNDA is committed to:
- Enabling flexible, interoperable AV solutions through open API development
- Collaborating on shared industry standards and best practices
- Supporting secure, customer-controlled data access
- Championing cross-brand collaboration and innovation
- Driving real-world adoption of cloud-native AV systems
The launch of OpenAV Cloud comes at a pivotal time, as AV professionals increasingly seek faster deployment, deeper system integration, and cloud-based tools that can adapt to evolving workflows. The initiative is open to AV manufacturers, system integrators, and managed service providers, with free membership for the first 12 months to encourage widespread industry participation.
“We invite AV manufacturers and software developers to join this initiative. Together we can build a more open, flexible and future-ready AV industry,” commented Shimonishi.
OpenAV Cloud will officially debut during a special event in May ahead of InfoComm 2025.
