Panasonic’s Commitment to Chemical Disclosures

Panasonic is committed to manufacturing high quality products while complying with all product safety laws and providing transparent product formulation information for all applicable cookware products. The cookware products identified here are also compliant with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s requirements for food contact surfaces to ensure that they are safe for their intended use.

California Assembly Bill 1200 (“AB 1200”) and Colorado HB 22-1345 (“HB 22-1345”) requires manufacturers of cookware products to disclose the presence of various chemicals that are intentionally added to the handles of a product or any product surface that comes into contact with food or beverages.

• California AB 1200 applies to chemicals identified on the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC)’s Candidate Chemicals List, which can be found here: https://calsafer.dtsc.ca.gov/cms/search/?type=Chemical.
• Colorado HB 22-1345 applies to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Please be advised that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is conducting a rigorous scientific review of the PFAS authorized for use in food contact applications to ensure that these uses continue to be safe. For instance, PFAS may be used as a coating to make cookware non-stick, but studies conclude that this coating contains a negligible amount of PFAS capable of migrating to food.
